What should I do if I am arrested?

If a police officer arrests you, always be sure that you do not resist arrest or try to run away. The officer will most likely question you, but you do not have to answer him if you do not feel comfortable doing so. It would be in your best interest to not say anything at this time and instead consult your attorney about it later. Anything you say could be used against you in a trial. The officer should remind you of this by reciting your Miranda rights prior to asking any questions.

Again, never try to fight an officer that is arresting you. Do not mouth off, do not try to run, and do not try to convince the officer of your innocence. If you have been arrested and would like to know what to do next, contact the West Palm Beach criminal defense attorneys of Eric N. Klein & Associates today at 561-353-2800.
