A 19-year old West Palm Beach man was recently charged with robbery with a weapon and grand theft of a motor vehicle. The juvenile was arrested last month after police were called to a Denny’s restaurant in West Palm Beach on Okeechobee about a robbery.
Two hours before the call about a robbery at Denny’s, West Palm Beach police officers received reports of a stolen Dodge Stratus. After arriving at the restaurant, the officers saw the stolen vehicle speeding east down Okeechobee away from the restaurant.
Police followed the Stratus until it lost control near Australian Avenue. Two suspects got out of the car and took off running. The 19-year old was found by a K-9 team and later booked at the Palm Beach County Jail. In the car, officers recovered money, a mask, and a gun.
