A 25-year-old woman has been charged with grand theft auto after stealing a man’s keys from a nursing home in late April and driving away in his car, authorities said. Police saw the woman and two others running from a store Tuesday and discovered that the vehicle she was driving was the stolen vehicle.
Police said she entered the nursing home and took the 87-year-old man’s car keys, which were sitting on a table, without his permission. Surveillance cameras show the woman and two others walking to the man’s car and driving away. The woman admitted to going to the nursing home that day but denied taking the keys, reports say. A 20-year-old woman has also been charged in the theft.
