Agents with the Drug Enforcement Agency and detectives with theBroward Sheriff’s Office found 230 pounds of marijuana inside the back of atractor trailer headed for South Florida.
The 18-wheeler was driven by Ramiro Rodriguez, who was beingfollowed by his accomplice, Enrique Rodriguez, in a GMC Yukon. The arrests werepart of an ongoing, large-scale investigation. Detectives for the BrowardSherriff’s Department and DEA agents believe the two men are part of a largergroup of drug runners who have been bringing cocaine, heroin, and marijuanainto South Florida for the last decade.
Police found hundreds of pounds of marijuana in individuallywrapped packages stacked to the ceiling in the back of the truck, which wascarrying not carrying any other cargo. Both Rodriguez’s are now being chargedwith drug trafficking.
