The reggae artist Buju Banton was recently arrested in Florida earlier in the week by authorities.  Authorities recently announced that the artist attempted to buy at least 5 kilograms of cocaine from an informant.

The artist was arrested with two others after he attempted to purchase nearly 5 kilograms of cocaine from a police informant according to authorities.  The artist has since been charged with conspiracy with intent to distribute more than five kilograms of cocaine.

He has been charged with the crime in a federal court in Tampa.
